About Anaconda Coalition for Tolerance Education
ACTE honors diversity by encouraging the community to be accepting of all people, no matter their abilities, their gender identity or sexual orientation, their race or ethnicity.
What We Do
The Anaconda Coalition for Tolerance Education presents discussion events, book readings, art exhibits, videos, and lectures on issues of discrimination and intolerance.
Partnership
The Anaconda Coalition for Tolerance Education collaborates with our schools and community to respond to issues of hate and discrimination in Anaconda and seek to educate ourselves about social justice issues. We encourage participation our system of government.
Advocacy
ACTE sponsors the LGBTQIA+ Week of Recognition and the Transgender Day of Remembrance. We sponsored a summit on bullying, harassment, and intimidation and a forum on legislative advocacy.
Memorial
ACTE has sponsored presentations by Holocaust survivors, films and speakers relating to the holocaust, and a Holocaust Memorial Service led by Montana rabbis who spoke about anti-Semitic harassment in Montana.
Celebration
The Anaconda Coalition for Tolerance Education honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day with events such as films, speakers, and celebrations. ACTE has also sponsored a Native American Experience Day for families.
Education
We have sponsored Native American films and events such as "Indigenous Civil Rights and How to be an Ally" by the ACLU Indigenous Outreach Coordinator and a Community Read of Perma Red ending with a reading by the Indigenous author, Debra Magpie Earling.
